STOREYLINE
Privacy policy · 9 August 2026
I run Storeyline. It's a free browser game made by one person — an
individual based in the UK, not a company. This page explains everything
the game stores about you, which isn't much.
What I store, and why
- Your email address — only if you sign in. Sign-in is passwordless:
you give an email, I send a one-time link. The address exists so the
link has somewhere to go, so your towers belong to you, and — only if
you explicitly say yes when asked — for occasional Storeyline update
emails. Turn that off any time in the save panel, no hard feelings.
Signing in sets a session cookie called
st_session. It
lasts 90 days, is HttpOnly, and does nothing except keep you signed
in.
- Your tower saves — if you save to the server, the save data is
stored against your account so you can load it later. Towers are private
unless you explicitly create a read-only share link. (As the operator I
can technically access stored towers — I only look when debugging or
when you ask for help.)
- Crash reports — if the game hits an error, it sends me the error
text and your browser's user-agent string so I can fix it. No account or
identity is attached to a crash report.
- Support messages — if you use the support form, your message (and
your email, if you choose to give one) is stored and emailed to me so I
can reply.
What I don't do
No ads. No tracking cookies. Cloudflare's privacy-first Web Analytics
counts visits and page-load times anonymously — it sets no cookies, stores
no personal data, and does no cross-site tracking. The only cookie is the
sign-in session above, and if you never sign in there are no cookies at
all. I don't sell or share anything with anyone.
Who else touches the data
- Cloudflare — hosts the game and its database, and may process IP
addresses as part of running and securing the service.
- Resend — delivers the sign-in and support emails.
That's the whole list.
Deleting your data
Sign in and use Delete my account in the save panel — it removes
your account and every tower saved to it, immediately and permanently. Or
ask via the support form and I'll do it by hand.
Contact
Use the support form in the game (the Support link on the title screen or
in the save panel).
